James&Brielle// The Funeral

As Brielle walked to Gryffindor tower early Saturday morning, she had a million thoughts racing through her head. She was on her way to meet her friend James, and accompany him to his parent’s funerals. Brielle wasn’t really sure how to respond to all of this, the war had been going on since she was ten years old, but no one close to her had ever died before. The Potters were wonderful people; she remembered having dinner with them once not long after she started at Hogwarts. They had been kind and polite, ready to explain to her anything she needed, for although Brielle was a half-blood, her parents had raised her without magic. She smiled, remembering how Margaret, his mother, had made pomegranate pie for her because it was Brielle’s favorite. Robert, James’s father, had been dashing as well. Brielle could tell immediately that that was where James’ charm came from. However, after reliving her pleasant memories, Brielle’s mind began to relive the nightmare from last night. For half a second, she froze, not sure what to do. With a shake of her head, Brielle tried to get the thoughts of Margaret and Robert screaming as far away as possible. Very soon, she would be at Gryffindor tower, and when she got there she needed to be in a much better state of mind for her friend.

Ah, there it was- Gryffindor tower. Brielle waited just beyond the corner- she knew from experience that the Fat Lady would be annoyed if she just stood there, but she was also ten minutes early, so she doubted James would be ready yet. She leaned against the wall, expecting a few more minutes to gather her thoughts before seeing her friend.

After Hogwarts… now there’s something I don’t like thinking about! I’d like to travel, but my family probably needs me to get a job and help them, so you’ll probably find me in some bookshop in Diagon Alley for a while. Yourself?

Hmm… I really don’t know what I want to do just yet. Professor Flitwick and I have been talking lately, and he thinks I should look into something academic, like being a professor or librarian. I don’t think I’d mind that too much. :)

But of course, I also have more time than you to decide. I just finished my 5th year, remember? :)

Brielle/Lily l Catching up

Heedless to say, she was still excited. The potion had taken a lot out of her, but now she had time to spare for her friends. That was something that she had been looking forward for in weeks, just time with her friends. Just laughs and no problems. Simple as that. Lily was ecstatic to have familiar faces surrounding her even if she didn’t particularly like them (namely Potter). Homework, the potion and everything else wasn’t her concern at the moment, only finding that she was going to reserve this time for herself and her dear old friends. That’s what she was going to put forth with and frankly, she didn’t care for anything else at the moment.

“That’s unfortunately true!” A laugh escaped her lips as her eyes twinkled with light amusement. She treaded through the tiny branches along with Brielle, allowing the cold, airy breeze hit her lightly, smiling at the beautiful weather. It seemed as if this day was designed for her and Brielle. Hopefully, she wouldn’t have to deal with any trivial predicaments. Just a day of relaxing and a few butterbeers for their own amusement.

Lily knew that Brielle had probably millions of things to say to her and Lily was a bit eager to hear the latest drama that was stirring in the corridors of Hogwarts. Although, Lily wasn’t much a gossiper, she liked being updated on the latest situations. She was a prefect after all. Last time she had spoken to Brielle was when she was practically fawning over Remus, but now it seemed as if she fancied Benjy Fenwick. She had heard that he was a decent bloke. Lily was happy for her. Remus seemed to be a bit preoccupied with a certain friend of hers. It was a interesting change, but Lily was excited for her nevertheless. Lily didn’t know how to stop time from running away from her. The time that was offered to her never seemed as if it was ever enough. And it wasn’t.

The dull thudding of their shoes hitting the cobblestones took Brielle by surprise, as she hadn’t realized they had left the grounds until the noises around her abruptly changed. She had been so caught up in deciding what to tell Lily first that she hadn’t even tried to make small talk.

“Oh Lily!” Brielle exclaimed without a second thought, “Did you know that a new shop just opened in Hogsmeade? It sells muggle toys! I think we should go in there and look around; it’s been ages since I’ve blown bubbles.”

Hoping that the smile on her face would be enough to convince her friend, Brielle skipped on ahead without waiting for an answer. Truthfully, the girl just wanted somewhere to talk without being interrupted, and she doubted the Marauders were even aware of the shop they were heading towards, appropriately called ‘Growing Up Muggle’. After all, she had so much to tell her, and so much to ask her, that interruptions would driver her mad, and the Marauders would drive Lily mad whether they interrupted or not.

“Come on!” She cried out, wishing her friend would hurry up, “We’re almost there! You’re going to love it.”
